It also gives you a chance to practice opening and closing the program, approving Pre-Apps, and opening applications for editing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>How to Submit a Test Application<\/h2>\n<p>Below are instructions for creating an applicant account and submitting a test application. Actions that you need to complete in your Administrator account begin with \u201c<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ADMIN<\/span><\/strong>\u201d while actions completed in the applicant account begin with \u201c<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #bc6d1a;\">APPLICANT<\/span><\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ADMIN<\/strong><\/span><strong>: Open the program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: #bc6d1a; color: #ffffff;\">Program Setup &gt; Settings Tab &gt; <em>Availability Settings<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-tabs \"  >\r\n    \t\t\t<ul class=\"hts-tabs__nav\" role=\"tablist\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t    \t\t\t\t\t<li data-tab=\"#tabs-1\" class=\"hts-tabs__tab hts-tabs__tab--active\" role=\"tab\">Settings Tab<\/li>\r\n    \t\t\t\t    \t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<div id=\"tabs-1\" class=\"hts-tabs__content hts-tabs__content--active\" role=\"tabpanel\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hts-tabs__contentwrap\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Click into the <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/settings\/\">Settings<\/a> tab in Program Setup and scroll down to the <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/htmlsharing\/#choose-your-publishing-settings\">Availability Settings<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n    \t\t\t\t<\/div><!-- \/tabs-1 -->\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-tabs -->\r\n    \t\t\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure the <strong>Availability Status<\/strong> is set to Open.<\/li>\n<li>Change the <strong>Open to Apply Date<\/strong> to the current date.<\/li>\n<li>Check to make sure that the\u00a0<strong>Deadline <\/strong>date<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is sometime in the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t<span class=\"hts-messages__title\">Have you paid for your program?<\/span>    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tUnpaid programs will not open. If there is a balance due on your program, you will not be able to test the applicant experience. We\u2019re happy to open the program for you to test your application, however, so contact our support team and we can walk you through that process.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ADMIN<\/strong><\/span><strong>: Get the link to the program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: #bc6d1a; color: #ffffff;\">Program Setup &gt; Settings Tab &gt; <em>Publishing\/Sharing Settings<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-tabs \"  >\r\n    \t\t\t<ul class=\"hts-tabs__nav\" role=\"tablist\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t    \t\t\t\t\t<li data-tab=\"#tabs-1\" class=\"hts-tabs__tab hts-tabs__tab--active\" role=\"tab\">Settings Tab<\/li>\r\n    \t\t\t\t    \t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<div id=\"tabs-1\" class=\"hts-tabs__content hts-tabs__content--active\" role=\"tabpanel\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hts-tabs__contentwrap\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Click on the <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/settings\/\">Settings<\/a> tab and copy and paste the Direct Link URL from the <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/htmlsharing\/#direct-sharing-settings\">Direct Sharing Settings<\/a> into a new window, preferably in a different browser. (Using separate browsers allows you to be logged into both accounts at the same time.) This will take you to the page where you can create an applicant account.<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n    \t\t\t\t<\/div><!-- \/tabs-1 -->\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-tabs -->\r\n    \t\t\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--info  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t<span class=\"hts-messages__title\">Applicant Access to Your Programs<\/span>    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tTo ensure that you have complete control over who can access your programs and when, we do not post programs anywhere on our homepage or allow applicants to create accounts there. Applicants can be directed to your program(s) however you&#8217;d like, and you can use the links or HTML code provided in the Settings tab to provide access in a notification email or post on your own website.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong>APPLICANT<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong>: Create an applicant account.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Use an email address that is <em>different<\/em> from the one that you use to log into your Administrator account to set up a dummy applicant account. Each email address can only be used once in the system, so you&#8217;ll need to have a separate one for your tests. You may even want to set up a generic testing email address that everyone in your organization can use now and in the future! It&#8217;d be a great way to keep your tests in one place.<\/p>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--success   hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tIf you use an active email address that you own, you can see receive confirmation emails sent to applicants to check if the text you added in the<strong> Settings<\/strong> tab is as you want it.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n<p>After you&#8217;ve created your account, you&#8217;ll be logged in automatically. If you already have an applicant account, just log in using the existing users login at the top of the page.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong>APPLICANT<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong>: Start the application.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Click the <strong>Apply<\/strong> button to create your application. It will be created and you will be taken directly to the first tab of the application. If applicable, give the application a goofy title \u2013 something to help you and other users recognize it is a test\/fake application.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ADMIN<\/strong><\/span><strong>: Close the program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: #bc6d1a; color: #ffffff;\">Program Setup &gt; Settings Tab &gt; <em>Availability Settings<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;\">    \t\t<div class=\"hts-tabs \"  >\r\n    \t\t\t<ul class=\"hts-tabs__nav\" role=\"tablist\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t    \t\t\t\t\t<li data-tab=\"#tabs-1\" class=\"hts-tabs__tab hts-tabs__tab--active\" role=\"tab\">Settings Tab<\/li>\r\n    \t\t\t\t    \t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<div id=\"tabs-1\" class=\"hts-tabs__content hts-tabs__content--active\" role=\"tabpanel\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hts-tabs__contentwrap\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Go back to the Settings tab and close the program by setting the <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;\">Open to Apply Date<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;\"> back to your official date. If you have already shared the link to your program on your website or in an email, changing this date will ensure that other applicants are not able to create applications before you are ready.<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n    \t\t\t\t<\/div><!-- \/tabs-1 -->\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-tabs -->\r\n    \t\t<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ADMIN<\/strong><\/span><strong>: Open the application for editing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/open-app\/\">Open the application for editing <\/a>so that you can keep working on the application in your applicant account, even though the program is no longer open.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong>APPLICANT<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong>: Complete the application.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Click through the tabs and complete the content.<\/p>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-tabs \"  >\r\n    \t\t\t<ul class=\"hts-tabs__nav\" role=\"tablist\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t    \t\t\t\t\t<li data-tab=\"#tabs-1\" class=\"hts-tabs__tab hts-tabs__tab--active\" role=\"tab\">Pre-Application Tab<\/li>\r\n    \t\t\t\t    \t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<div id=\"tabs-1\" class=\"hts-tabs__content hts-tabs__content--active\" role=\"tabpanel\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hts-tabs__contentwrap\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t\t<p>If there is a Pre-Application, fill out that portion and submit it first.<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n    \t\t\t\t<\/div><!-- \/tabs-1 -->\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-tabs -->\r\n    \t\t\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ADMIN<\/span>: Approve the Pre-App<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0Change the <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/pre-application\/\">Pre-App Status<\/a> to &#8216;Approved&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">APPLICANT<\/span>: Refresh\u00a0the page to view the\u00a0changed Pre-App status <\/strong><\/span>&#8211;\u00a0Use the Refresh Page button in the upper right section of the page (instead of the browser refresh button) to view the changed decision, then complete the rest of the application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong>APPLICANT<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #bc6d1a;\"><strong>: Submit the application.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Click the <strong>Submit\u00a0<\/strong>button to submit the application.\u00a0ZoomGrants will run a <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/check-for-completion-feature\/\">check for completion<\/a> on the application.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve set up the Review phase \u2013 created your <a title=\"Committee\" href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/committee\/\">Committee<\/a> and <a title=\"Scoring\" href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/scoring\/\">Scoring<\/a> criteria, etc. \u2013 you can test the <a title=\"Testing the Committee Experience\" href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/testing-the-committee-experience\/\">Committee Experience<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Testing the Post-Decision Features<\/h2>\n<p>After you&#8217;ve made your decisions, you can also use this same submitted application to test the Post-Decision features such as the <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/contract\/\">Contract<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/reporting\/\">Reports<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/financial\/\">Invoices<\/a>. Just mark the application\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/decisions-voting\/\">approved<\/a> and &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/help.zoomgrants.com\/index.php\/zgu\/notify-applicants\/\">notified<\/a>&#8216; on the administrative side, and then you can get into the applicant account to see what your applicants will see during the post-decision period.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Once you\u2019ve set up the application, it\u2019s a good idea to go through the process as an applicant to get a feel for what your Applicants will experience.
